Keep On The Sunny Side

I wrote earlier about the singalong videos I’ve been making for the Ballagh Choir of Ages throughout the lockdown period of 2020/2021. Some of these have included short guitar tutorials at the end of the video, because a couple of the choir members are guitarists, and I tend to lose the run of myself a bit with some of the guitar parts, so it’s often helpful for the guitarists in the group to hear an explanation of what I was doing during the song.

One such video is above – Keep On The Sunny Side. You might know it from the movie ‘O Brother, Where Art Thou?’, but probably the most famous version is by the Carter Family.

There’s usually a bit of chat at the start of the video, and this one is no different.

The song starts at 1m23s.

The lesson begins at 5m12s.

You can find a chord chart (lyrics and chords only, no tablature) HERE.

The chords for this are very simple, but incorporating the melody will take some nimble fingers. Have fun!
